Abstract

|
Objectives: This study attempted to allow instructors to reflect on their teaching activities and seek efficiency measures for continuous evaluation and utilization through a diagnosis of teaching competency.
Methods: The study period was from 261 professors at some universities were analyzed. Using SPSSWIN 23.0.
Results: Basic competency was 4.45 points and lecture competency was 4.36 points, slightly higher, basic competency was 4.60 points for professionalism and beliefs as a professor, and motivation was the highest for lecture competency with 4.52 points. However, in terms of lecture competency, those in their 60s or older (4.49 points) were statistically significantly higher than those in their 30s (4.21 points) (p<.05).
The correlation of teaching competency for each area showed statistically significant positive correlation in all areas.
Conclusions: University professors will need to clearly recognize what their insufficient teaching competencies are, and continuous efforts will be needed to strengthen them, and teaching support organizations will need various program support to develop and supplement their insufficient competencies.
